Privately financed international students enrolled at the University of Fukui who meet the requirements are eligible
to apply for the Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship. Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship has different quotas,
and the following is the quota you can apply through UF:
Reservation Quota
①Privately financed international students who are expected to enter UF through GEPIS and GEP for R&D.
(Quota has a limit)
②There is a quota for those who received outstanding result on EJU, Examination for Japanese University
Admission for International Students, and are expected to enter UF as a full-time student.
Scholarship period and monthly amount (For 2021)
Period
1) 12 months: April – next year March
2) 6 months: April – next year March
Monthly
Graduate/Undergraduate program 48,000 yen
Requirements:
1.Applicants must have the GPA of 2.30/3.00 or more in the previous year. And those who are expected to
maintain the same standard on academic performance while receiving the scholarship.
2.Applicants must fulfill Japanese or English language requirement as follows:
・Japanese
Those who have JLPT N2 or higher, those who received 200 points or more in the Japanese subjects (reading,
listening and listening comprehension) on EJU, or those who fulfill the requirement shown by JASSO.
・English
Those who have CEFR(Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:Learning,teaching,
assessment)B2 level or higher
3.Applicants must be willing to cooperate with the survey on their future career status conducted by JASSO
through your home university after receiving the scholarship.
4.Applicants must not be receiving financial support of average monthly amount of 90,000 JPY from the
financial supporter(s). The amount excludes admission fee and tuition.
5.In case if an applicant has a financial supporter living in Japan, his/her annual income must be less
than 5,000,000 JPY.
6.Applicants must not be receiving any other scholarship which has restriction of combined payments.
7.Applicants must not be receiving any support on Study Abroad Support System through JASSO.
