The Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Fukui has signed an academic exchange agreement between the Faculty of Nursing, Airlangga University, Indonesia.
The Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Fukui started dispatching students to the Faculty of Medicine of Airlangga University in 2011. The two institutions concluded an agreement in 2016, and have continued student exchange since then. It is a leading case of international exchange at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Fukui.
Since Airlangga University has the independent Faculty of Nursing, we have decided to have an additional agreement to promote exchange of education and research in public health, especially in the field of community health nursing. Prior to the conclusion of this agreement, there was an online international nursing seminar hosted by the Faculty of Nursing in June, this year, and Professor HASEGAWA Tomoko, Chair of the Division of Nursing of the University of Fukui participated in the seminar as a guest speaker.
At the gathering of related professors on December 4th to commemorate the conclusion of this agreement, Professor NAIKI Hironobu, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences said, “By interacting with students and researchers from both universities, we will be able to gain a deeper understanding of each other’s religions, cultures, and contribute to the global human resource development of both universities in the future. I think we can expect further development of both universities through the agreement.”
At the University of Fukui, we will deepen exchanges with important overseas partner universities including Airlangga University and aim for further internationalization.
